MetaMask is a bridge that allows you to visit the distributed web of tomorrow in your browser today. It allows you to run Ethereum dApps right in your browser without running a full Ethereum node.

MetaMask includes a secure identity vault, providing a user interface to manage your identities on different sites and sign blockchain transactions.

You can install the MetaMask add-on in Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and the new Brave browser.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: THIS AGREEMENT IS SUBJECT TO BINDING ARBITRATION AND A WAIVER OF CLASS ACTION RIGHTS AS DETAILED IN SECTION 14. PLEASE READ THE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY.

ConsenSys AG’s MetaMask (“MetaMask,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a platform for managing Ethereum (or “ETH”) accounts, and allowing ordinary websites and applications to interact with the Ethereum blockchain, while keeping the user in control over what transactions they approve, through our website located at https://metamask.io/ and browser plugin (the “Site”) and mobile application (the “App”) — which includes text, images, audio, code and other materials (collectively, the “Content”) and all of the features, and services provided.

ConsenSys AG’s MetaMask recognizes that people who use MetaMask value their privacy. This privacy policy (“Policy”) describes how MetaMask (“Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, shares, and stores personal information of users of our website, https://metamask.io/ and our mobile application,  (collectively the “Site”). This Policy applies to the Site, applications, products and services (collectively, “Services”) on or in which it is posted, linked, or referenced.

By using the Services, you accept the terms of this Policy and our Terms of Use, and consent to our collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your information as described in this Policy.  If you have not done so already, please also review our terms of use.

Normally, MetaMask displays ERC20 standarAd tokens(or standard tokens) you own on your account page.

To see your tokens, click on the bar under the Fox icon. Your tokens should be listed.

If your token is not listed automatically, you may add the tokens manually. On you account page, scroll down to find the “Add Token” button.

In the new MetaMask User Interface (Beta), we have developed a search bar for popular tokens to help you find your tokens more easily.

If the token you search is not among the most popular tokens, the search bar may not return the token you query.

By now our readers know that CoinSutra believes in quality. That is one reason why we have been choosy about wallets.

The Metamask third-party Wallet lets you connect your Ledger device to their platform, so you can securely display your balances and manage your transactions.

MetaMask is a cryptocurrency wallet but also a web browser extension (available in Chrome, Firefox and Brave) used to store, send and receive Ethereum and ERC20. In other words, it allows users to make Ethereum transactions through regular websites. MetaMask can be used to store keys for Ethereum cryptocurrencies only.

When you own cryptocurrencies, what you really own is a “private key”, a critical piece of information used to authorize outgoing transactions on the blockchain network.

Whoever has the knowledge of this key can spend the associated funds.

Hence the famous expression “not your (private) keys, not your bitcoins”.
